$580 million
Foxground and Berry Bypass
Providing a four-lane highway with median separation for 12.5km of the Princes Highway between Toolijooa Road and Andersons Lane.
Description
The $580 million Foxground and Berry Bypass provides a four-lane highway with median separation for 12.5km of the Princes Highway between Toolijooa Road and just south of Andersons Lane.
The upgrade included a bypass of the existing winding highway at Foxground and a bypass of Berry with access ramps at the north and south of the town.
Approach
Comacon worked closely with Fulton Hogan to prepare the tender submission for NSW Roads and Maritime Services. Following contract award, we developed and delivered a comprehensive Community Communication Strategy.
Before major construction, during the pre-site establishment and early works phases, Comacon established relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including businesses and residents of the town of Berry and farms along the new road alignment.
Once major construction commenced, we worked as part of a multi-disciplinary project team, with responsibility for day to day management of stakeholders, issues resolution and drafting of all communications collateral.
Our work ensured key stakeholders and interested parties were kept informed of project developments through a number of channels, including detailed posters, community updates, announcements on the RMS website and time-lapse videos.
Highlights
A well attended community celebration walk was held before opening the bypass to traffic.
