Description
The Glenfield to Leppington Rail Line was a NSW Government initiative to respond to issues of reliability and passenger growth on the metropolitan rail network and population growth in south west Sydney.

· 10.5km of new twin track electrified rail line from Glenfield to Leppington
· New passenger stations at Leppington and Edmondson Park
· 14 bridges including culverts
· Electrical substations
· A train stabling yard at Rossmore
· Installation, testing and commissioning of all rail systems for the new line.
Approach
Comacon provided stakeholder engagement and communication services for the project. We developed a comprehensive Community Liaison Plan; a quarterly delivery plan to ensure information about construction activities was timely, relevant and comprehensive; and all communication collateral for the duration of the project.
During the pre-site establishment and early works phases, Comacon built relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including farmers, market gardeners, businesses, landowners and residents.
Once major construction commenced, we implemented the Community Liaison Plan with the day-to-day management of stakeholders, issues resolution, complaints and database management and drafting and delivery of all communication collateral.
The strong interpersonal relationships built in the early stages ensured community issues requiring detailed attention during construction did not affect program schedules.
